About this deal

I’d rate Escape from the Starline Express as a difficulty of 2 out of 5. You can play it solo, but it’s designed for at least two people. Some of the props include duplicates, so multiple people can work on them at the same time. For fun, I give it a 4 out of 5.

What’s in the box? The box flips open to reveal an array of envelopes depicting train cars. Some are bulky, some are thinner, but you’re not allowed to open them for now. What do you do in the game? The short sheet of instructions explains how to start the game and then your task is to figure out which envelope you should open next. Each envelope has a puzzle with a solution that points to the next envelope. So let’s dive into a bit more specific detail on Professor Puzzle Escape From The Starline Express, starting with the price. Of course, one downside to buying online is that you aren’t able to see the product in-person. But there are many ways to help you determine a product’s quality without seeing it. Next up is the material. Take a look at what Professor Puzzle Escape From The Starline Express is made from. Often you can spot the quality of the product based on the materials used to make it, with some obvious signs of a cheaper product with certain types of material. With some toys this will be more important than others. So you’ll already have a good idea of whether the material is actually a big deal or not when buying Board games. Let’s see what it is about Professor Puzzle Escape From The Starline Express that gets it a review score of 9.2/10. The envelopes have two sets of props – one for the puzzles for solving for the next train car number, and the other for the story telling you about the robbery and your progress in searching for the hidden gems. The props are a mix of paper and punched cardboard, and are good quality. The envelopes show the insides of the train cars and look like photographs. I took just under 3 hours to finish, and I needed two clues and one solution for the nine puzzles. If I take a “divide by 2” solo player handicap, I get a time of just under 90 minutes, and I win.

The front of each envelope has a three-digit number somewhere, and a car name (the exception being the train station building, which is the last envelope and has the ID disguised. The puzzles generally resolve to one of the three-digit numbers, and you know you have it right if you find the matching envelope. Inside each envelope is a confirmation statement saying something like “if you are coming from the Observation car, you have the right envelope.” There’s no scoring system. You either get to the end of the game in 90 minutes or you don’t. The game is rated for two or more players, so I feel justified in dividing the time in half as a solo player handicap. I finished in 2 hours and 50 minutes. With the handicap, that’s 85 minutes, which is good enough for me.Each puzzle is different, but at first that’s not easy to tell because the first two riddles look like substitution ciphers (the second one is an unrelated gear-turning challenge). Most of the puzzles aren’t that hard – just time-consuming. Each envelope also has a “secret compartment” (it’s not really secret) that has one clue for the problem. I looked at two of the clues, which just confirmed that I was already doing the right thing. There was one puzzle, though, that I didn’t like and needed the solution for. Fantastic fun for puzzle solvers, lovers of board games and whodunnits, it’s a great gift for anyone who loves entertaining and wants their dinner parties to be nights to remember. Didn’t bother passing it on to anyone else, I wouldn’t put them through it when there are so many other good versions out there! For our review we’ve scored Professor Puzzle Escape From The Starline Express 9.2 out of 10. We take a number of criteria into account here including what customers have to say about the product, the features, quality and price. Solitaire or interactive? I prefer escape rooms with fewer players, but having more than one set of eyes looking at things is always good.

What hidden secrets will you uncover when you board the Starline Express? And will you escape in time?Whilst we will do everything we can to meet the delivery times above, there may be factors outside of our control and we cannot guarantee delivery within this time frame. Isle of Man, Isle of Wight, Northern Ireland and the Scottish Highlands) may take longer to reach you.

There’s no detective work here. You’re told upfront who the suspects are, and you find the location of the hidden diamonds as a matter of course as you play along. All you’re trying to do is solve for the number of the next car in the train, then get to the destination envelope. As such, the game feels a little short. It’s like Professor Puzzle was trying to copy Think Fun, and wasn’t really sure how to go about it. The puzzles offer a variety of fairly typical escape room puzzles. Escape from the Starline Express is strictly a linear game – you’re railroaded through the puzzles, one by one, until you reach the end. This makes it an easy game, on the level of the easiest Exit: The Game games, and at times makes solving the puzzles a bit too easy (when you have one numbered carriage left, it’s pretty obvious the solution will be the number of that one carriage).

Free Printable Mystery Games PDF With that in mind, we wanted to really explore and analyse the price of Professor Puzzle Escape From The Starline Express to see how cheap you can get it, but also see how it compares to other products. To do this we looked all the products available in the “Board games” category, as well as looking at the products available from the brand Professor Puzzle. Who can play? The publisher age recommendation is 12+. You’re probably going to need adults in the game as well, but the game works as a family game. The box gives you nine envelopes, one representing each of the eight cars of the train, plus the destination train station. You also get a solutions envelope. The game envelopes generally contain two sets of puzzles, either to cover losses if you decide to play multiple times, or if you want to share tasks with the party. The contents of the envelopes can be divided into two categories – the props needed for the puzzles, and props for telling the story. The story props don’t contribute directly to the puzzles, and essentially just show that the gang did indeed commit the robbery. On the scale of Enthusiastic, Suggest, Indifferent or Avoid, Escape from the Starline Express gets Indifferent from me. Similar Posts:
