However this was a diary which probably wasn’t intended for publication, and I admittedly read it mainly for the references to the filming of the Harry Potter movies for which there are a reasonable number of entries across the years from 2000 to 2011.Usually, I only listen to audiobooks for long books, such as those by James Michener or David McCullough. Pat McAfee is 'sick' of criticism aimed at Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce after the Chiefs' AFC title victory: 'Why is everybody so mad? Rickman makes some excellent points, and I’m left with an urge to (re)watch so many of his (and others’) films, as well as to make more of an effort to visit the theatre.

In 2005, Rickman was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of prostate cancer, with doctor's ultimately removing his entire prostate in a surgery occurring at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville the following year. What is clear right from the start is Rickman is a real fan and supporter of the arts, going to see his many friends in as many performances as possible on stage and screen.

Then there are the times winding down in the villa he and Rima have in Italy, which inevitably needs things done to it. I also enjoyed the entries for Galaxy Quest and A Little Chaos which he directed (script first mentioned in 2001 but not screened until 2014). Im currently struggling with the Alan Rickman book it is a private diary and I don’t feel enough context has been explained as at times I feel I don’t not know what he was on about or who / what he is referring to.

Too often, all we present is an attempted repeat of a hazy memory of the once we thought we almost made it. This is a fraud of a book and I would NEVER recommend it to anyone in fact, I'm more likely to tell people to AVOID it like the plague. I feel like I could've read a wikipedia page and come out with the same information and way less irritation. I thought the self important thespian grated when referencing political events and meetings with politicians with an apparently blinkered naïveté about politics. He is a devoted sounding board for his friend Ruby Wax, and is blown away by the talents of Emma Thompson, with whom he appeared in Sense and Sensibility and Love Actually.Following the premiere of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone , Vanity Fair reports Rickman wrote that the film should “only be seen on the big screen” as it needed to be viewed in a manner that matched “the hideous score by John Williams. Temper and coldness, on the other hand, Rickman does sense in himself — he agrees how on film sets he can be ‘difficult, temperamental, uncommunicative,’ sullen, sulky, ‘brooding and prevaricating’. But the startling is good, and I'm going to suggest you run with it and resist a preview of the center photographs until you're a few years in.
