About this deal

The 24V battery and charging unit is included in the box delivery and it has side combs to allow it to mow extra close to boundary walls which reduces the level of trimming you need to do when the mowing is complete. It comes with a brushless motor which gives better efficiency, performance and longevity and there are 5 different mow height settings that can be adjusted using a single lever. The main downside to this mower is how flimsy it is. The majority of the mower is made of plastic, and it doesn’t feel very sturdy, especially around the grass collector. Please be aware that if you are seeking the lowest possible price, then you should skip the 34cm cordless and go for the 34cm corded lawnmower instead as it works just as well in our opinion – the only thing you are limited to though are the cables, cords and possible additional extension cords.

Other features of this electric rotary mower are its seven different cutting heights ranging from 2.5cm to 7cm and a rear roller for making stripes in your garden. This mower only weighs 18.5 kg too for comfortable mowing. There is also a comfortable soft grip handle, a rear roller for generating mow stripes, a safety switch as standard and it is lightweight to use at just 12.2kg Unfortunately, the single battery supplied with my refurbished machine was faulty and will only partly charge giving only ab out 8 minutes use. This renders the mower pretty useless for all but the smallest of lawns. Overall, we would recommend if you are looking for a reliable mower that can cut a variety of grass heights and extensive sized gardens, you should go for an alternate model such as the Advance Rotak 650 Bosch mower or the cordless 430 LI mower by Bosch, both these models offer more in terms of width and power. FAQs The battery LED lights is a great feature to have as you always know in advance when the battery is near depletion and when you need to start recharging it once again.

Unlike many other mowers, this machine has the easy fold handles which allows it to be folded away when not in use which is a whole lot easier. Fortunately, its flimsiness is the only real downside to this mower, given what it costs. The handle height can be easily adjusted, ensuring that the mower is comfortable to use no matter how tall you are. If your lawn is quite a distance from your house, then a cable or extension cord would be far too difficult to manage, so you are far better off using a cordless model instead. It would be great if these mowers offered a mulching plug or side discharge option though, but we didn’t really miss these features anyway as the grass collection is so good. Larger Lawns The last thing we liked was how tight it can mow to boundary walls and flower beds with very little trimming work needed thereafter.

This little machine has won awards for the Best buy which certainly goes a long way when choosing a lawn mower for smaller gardens I am sure there are more robust, better designed battery mowers on sale, but they can be much more expensive than this. This does a job, at least if you have a decent battery that is, but it is not really as good as i was hoping for.. Read full review

This mower is about double the weight, and is twice as powerful, as the mower we just reviewed. It also comes with seven different cutting height settings, rather than six. However, it’s also considerably more expensive (although this mower is still cheap, relative to most of its competitors, like the Bosch Rotak 36 R). As the weight is less than 12.5kg, it makes it so much easier to push this machine around your garden and even to push it up slopes or around uneven ground is a doddle With the size increase also comes a larger grass bag. You get a 40 litre capacity with this mower, which is plenty for a small garden. The grass box is also easy to detatch and empty when you’re finished mowing. However, there is no mulching functionality, which it would be good to see on a mower at this price point.

You are also restricted by this mowers 12-metre power cord, for a more extensive garden it would be best to use a cordless lawnmower such as the Bosch 430 LI which is powered by two 36V lithium ions. A lawnmower like this will provide much more flexibility in a more extensive garden. Assembly instructions could have better images and better laid out steps but is fairly manageable all the sameGetting additional batteries is harder than expected. Argos sell the lawn mowers but don’t sell additional batteries as well which I find hard to understand why. You need to call 0345 605 2068 to get extra batteries or a second charger

The grass collection unit works really well to leave a nice tidy finish and the built-in rear roller helps to leave an eye-catching striped finish once the job is done. If you need a slightly larger corded lawn mower, this option with a 37cm cutting width is worth looking at. The battery is a lot less powerful than others we have seen which explains the lower price level. Other batteries can be as high as 60V where this battery is only 24V.That's all the good stuff unfortunately. The grass bag is not easy to remove and refit in the correct slots. The roller is flimsy and doesn't give much striping effect. The handle is quite long, so more difficult to guide. I suspect even a good fully charged battery only lasts about 15 minutes cutting, so you definitely need two fully charged to do a decent sized lawn. In addition, if you wish, you can choose to buy this using a credit card plan with Argos where the overall cost can be spread over 6 months instead of having to pay for it all up front plus you get a 3 year warranty
